RECORD BASED ACCESS
RETS IQ Contact allows the MLS Administrator to define which types of records a RETS User may access. Using familiar fields and values in the MLS system itself, the Administrator can construct very simple or very complex restrictions.
For instance, IDX Record Filtering may be applied to prevent RETS users defined for IDX from accessing listing content where the Listing Status is Off Market. Another Record Filter could be created which would allow access to all listing content for all users who are using a predefined, MLS approved software application.
FILTERING
RETS IQ Contact will filter or “restrict” listing content based on any field and field value combination defined by the MLS Administrator. RETS IQ Contact is so flexible in its filtering an MLS may grant access to RETS data to a specific Application, Agent, Office, IP Address or any combination thereof. Additionally, RETS IQ Contact allows finite control over each and every user’s data, at the same time allowing MLS Administrators to define and enforce User Class listing content rules.
Filtering of RETS access is a key component to making RETS successful. RETS IQ Contact’s filtering is managed at the application level by the MLS Administrator, not in the MLS system database. This allows different Users to have access to certain information in the MLS system but will restrict access to that same information through RETS following the MLS business rules for data distribution.
FIELD LEVEL RESTRICTIONS
RETS IQ Contact enables MLS Administrators to easily specify which MLS fields users may access. Property, Agent and Office classes can have accessible fields defined by simply selecting the field name in a separate pop-up window for each class in the MLS system. Access to any class may also be completely blocked, preventing access to information such as Agent or Office Roster information, email addresses or any data deemed by the MLS Administrator as proprietary or confidential.
IP ADDRESS RESTRICTIONS
MLS Administrators can quickly close down RETS access by blocking a specific User or IP Address when abuse is detected. If usage levels deviate from what is normal and expected, RETS IQ Contact may be set to disallow access. Blocking is immediate and may be reversed easily without requiring reconfiguration of User permissions.
